Congratulations to AFCG Director, Jeff Lawrence (and all the other over the moon Melbourne fans) on seeing the Dees win in the West over the weekend. Jeff, a founding director of the AFCG and long time Geelong innovation leader and Sykes Racing owner, fluked incredible timing to witness his beloved Demons win the 2021 AFL Grand Final in Perth.
Jeff had been on extended travel in the West when Melbourne made it into the Grand Final. So with a champion’s determination, he secured a ticket to the game and saw Melbourne break their 57-year premiership drought.

Dear Directors,
I wanted to wish Jeff Lawrence all the best this weekend – watching his beloved Melbourne play in Perth! (Jeff – you still have not sent that photo of you with your Grand Final ticket!!). Even though I don’t normally follow football, I am barracking for the Dees.
My brother is a tragic and was telling me today he was at the 1964 Melb-Collingwood game with my father when Neil Crompton kicked the winning goal in some very strange turn of events (which he explained… and now I cannot quite remember!)
